These Affiliate Programme Terms (the "Terms") govern your participation as an affiliate in the MotifyMe® Affiliate Programme (the "Programme"). By applying to the Programme or accepting an invitation, you agree to these Terms.

These Terms are separate from the main MotifyMe® Terms and Conditions which apply to your use of the MotifyMe® product as a customer.

1. Who can join

To join the Programme you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a UK resident or have a UK bank account that can receive payouts via Stripe Connect.
  • Have a public profile, channel, blog, audience or marketing capability that you can use to promote MotifyMe® lawfully.
  • Not be a current MotifyMe® customer using the same email address (see section 13 below).

2. Application and approval

You apply by completing the form at motifyme.co/affiliates. We review every application and approve or decline at our discretion. We may decline applications without giving reasons. Approval is a permission, not a guarantee of revenue.

3. How commissions work

When a customer signs up to MotifyMe® using your unique referral link, QR code or promo code, you earn a commission each time they pay a subscription invoice. Current commission rates are:

  • £1.00 per Single Vehicle subscriber, every month they remain a paying customer.
  • £2.50 per Multi Vehicle subscriber, every month they remain a paying customer.

Commissions are residual: you continue earning each month for as long as the referred customer maintains an active paid subscription. Commissions stop the month the customer cancels, downgrades to a non-paying status, or has their account closed.

4. Rates and structure subject to change

Commission rates, payout thresholds, attribution rules and other Programme terms may change at any time at our discretion. Changes apply from the date the updated Terms are posted on this page, unless we state otherwise. For existing referrals, any rate change will only apply to commissions earned on invoices paid after the change takes effect. We will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice of material changes by email or via your affiliate dashboard.

5. Tracking and attribution

We attribute a new customer to you when they sign up using your link, scan your QR code, or enter your promo code at checkout. Attribution is recorded at the moment of signup. If a customer is not attributed to you at signup (for example, they clear cookies or sign up through a different channel) we cannot retrospectively credit you.

One customer signup is attributed to one affiliate only. In the rare case of competing attributions, the most recent valid touchpoint wins.

6. Commission lifecycle

Each commission moves through stages before it becomes available for payout:

  1. Predicted: the customer has paid their first invoice and we have logged a commission against your account.
  2. Pending: the predicted commission has cleared our 7 day refund window without a chargeback, refund or cancellation.
  3. Available: the commission is confirmed and counted toward your next payout balance.
  4. Paid: the commission has been paid out to your connected Stripe account.

Note: MotifyMe® subscriptions begin with a 14 day free trial. No commission is earned during the free trial. The first commission is logged when the customer pays their first invoice after the trial ends.

7. Payouts

Payouts are made via Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before any commissions can be paid out. Minimum payout threshold, frequency and other payout settings are shown in your affiliate dashboard and may change at our discretion (see section 4).

You are responsible for keeping your Stripe Connect account in good standing. We are not responsible for delays caused by Stripe verification, banking issues or information you have not provided.

8. Tax and VAT

You are responsible for all taxes, national insurance contributions, VAT and other charges on your commissions. If you are VAT registered, you must provide your VAT number in your affiliate profile so we can handle invoices correctly. We do not provide tax advice.

9. What you must not do

You must not:

  • Refer yourself, your own household, or anyone using your own payment method (self-referral). Self-referrals are automatically blocked and any commission earned in breach of this rule may be reversed.
  • Use spam, unsolicited bulk email or unsolicited SMS to promote MotifyMe®.
  • Use paid search, paid social or paid display advertising that bids on the terms "MotifyMe", "Motify Me" or close variants, without our prior written consent.
  • Make false, misleading or exaggerated claims about MotifyMe®, the commission you have earned, or the income a customer can expect from us.
  • Imply that you are MotifyMe®, are employed by MotifyMe®, or speak on behalf of MotifyMe®.
  • Run sweepstakes, contests, cash-back schemes, coupon sites or loyalty schemes that rely on the Programme without our prior written consent.
  • Use the Programme in any way that breaches UK consumer protection law, advertising standards (ASA / CAP code), data protection law, or any other applicable law.
  • Resell, transfer, sublicense or assign your affiliate account to anyone else.

10. Disclosure (creators)

If you are a content creator, influencer or run any other platform where you publish promotional content, you must disclose the commercial relationship in line with the ASA / CMA guidance on hidden advertising. A clear "#ad", "#affiliate" or written disclosure is required on any post or video promoting MotifyMe® where you stand to earn a commission.

11. Brand and promotional materials

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use MotifyMe® name, logos and approved marketing materials solely for the purpose of promoting MotifyMe® under the Programme. You must:

  • Use the MotifyMe® logo, colours and brand assets as provided, without modification.
  • Not register or use domain names, social media handles, or trademarks that include "MotifyMe" or confusingly similar variants.
  • Stop using all MotifyMe® brand assets immediately if your affiliate account is terminated or suspended.

12. Termination and suspension

You may end your participation in the Programme at any time by emailing hello@motifyme.co. We may suspend or terminate your affiliate account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms, behaved in a way that damages the MotifyMe® brand, or used the Programme fraudulently.

On termination:

  • Available commission balance at the point of termination will be paid out at the next scheduled payout (subject to the minimum payout threshold).
  • Predicted and pending commissions may be reviewed and voided if the termination was for breach of these Terms.
  • All licences to use MotifyMe® brand assets end immediately.

13. Affiliate and customer account separation

At present, affiliate accounts and MotifyMe® customer accounts are separate accounts identified by email address. You cannot use the same email address for both. We expect to unify accounts in a future release, after which one login will support both customer and affiliate access. We will email all affected accounts before any unification takes effect.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, MotifyMe®'s total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms (whether in contract, tort, negligence, statutory duty or otherwise) is capped at the total commissions paid to you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of audience, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify MotifyMe® against any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your promotional activity, or your use of the MotifyMe® brand outside the scope of the licence in section 11.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will apply from the date posted on this page, unless a different effective date is stated. Continued participation in the Programme after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Where a change materially affects your existing commission rights, we will use reasonable efforts to give you advance notice by email or via your affiliate dashboard (see section 4).

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
