Most of it runs from a single registration, with no account needed to start.
What we offer
Free vehicle check
Enter any UK number plate and, in seconds, see the car's full MOT history (every result, advisory and failure reason), its DVLA vehicle details, its current tax status, any outstanding safety recalls, and a free market valuation. No sign-up, no charge. Tax status does not transfer when a car changes hands, so it is mainly useful to an owner checking their own vehicle, and the valuation is a guide only, not a guarantee or an offer to buy. The free check does not include mileage history.
Vehicle history check
For the full financial and legal background on a car, our paid vehicle history check, with data provided by Experian, reveals outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, stolen markers, previous keeper history, import, export and scrapped records, and VIN and identity verification. It tells you whether a car is genuinely safe to buy and legally yours once you own it.
The MotifyMe marketplace
Our marketplace lists used cars from both UK dealers and private sellers. Cars from dealers are finance-ready, so a buyer can choose to be introduced to finance to spread the cost. Cars listed privately are cash-only: they are not eligible for finance and are funded directly between buyer and seller. Whichever you are looking at, you can run a check on it first.
Car finance
MotifyMe does not provide, arrange or handle finance itself. When you are buying from a motor dealer, we can introduce you to an FCA-authorised credit broker who takes it from there, subject to status and affordability. We introduce, we do not advise, and introductions apply only to dealer purchases, never to private sales.
Business and asset finance
Beyond consumer car finance, we introduce businesses and motor dealers to asset finance: business loans, stock funding to buy and hold vehicle inventory, hire purchase and leasing on vehicles, plant and equipment, refinancing existing assets to release cash, and commercial mortgages. As with all our finance, we make introductions rather than lend or advise, subject to status.

Is the vehicle check really free?
Yes. The reg check showing MOT history, DVLA details, tax status, outstanding safety recalls and a valuation is completely free, with no account. A more detailed vehicle history check, with data provided by Experian, is available as a paid option.
What does the free check show?
