Enter any UK registration and this tool pulls the car's CO2 and fuel type, works out its road tax band, estimates its fuel economy and gives you an estimated annual fuel bill and total yearly running cost. Change the mileage, MPG or fuel price to match how you actually drive.

How the estimate works

Road tax is based on when the car was first registered and its CO2, using the current 2026/27 VED rates. MPG is estimated from the official CO2 figure, then combined with your mileage and the current average pump price. For an electric car we use energy efficiency and your electricity price instead of MPG and fuel.
