What counts as compliant
The emission standards are the same across UK clean air and low emission zones. A petrol car generally needs to meet Euro 4 (most registered from 2006), and a diesel car needs Euro 6 (most registered from September 2015). Fully electric cars are always exempt. It comes down to the exact emission standard, not just the age, which is why it pays to check the reg rather than guess.
The Bristol zone
The central area, roughly bounded by the river, the floating harbour, the M32 approach and inner-city roads. Live since November 2022. It is run by Bristol City Council.
